Foy (1900–1979) masterfully captures the rugged coastal beauty of the Antrim shoreline, looking across the water toward the iconic silhouette of Rathlin Island. This vintage Irish oil painting showcases Foy’s signature ability to render the atmospheric light and deep, shifting blues of the North Atlantic, a skill informed by his deep personal knowledge of the Irish landscape and his background as a keen fisherman.

Henry J Foy (Harry) (Irish 1920–1979)
Henry James Foy, a landscape painter in oils was born in Belfast in 1920.
